Gordon Food Services – Helping the Community.

By | April 18, 2017

Gordon Food Service and Community Action Agency are celebrating six years of collaboration in battling hunger in Chippewa, Luce, Mackinac Counties. The donation of loose change in patrons pocket has made significant contributions to needy families in local communities.
Over $ 1,650.00 of change was collected from patrons who visited GFS in the 10 days before Christmas and donated their change to a worthy cause. The money was exchanged into $25.00 gift certificates for families who need emergency food assistance and will be distributed by Community Action Agency.
With the help of Store Manager Gary Gorsuch, and his enthusiastic staff the Sault Ste. Marie store raised the second highest amount in the GFS district.
Since the commencement of this proposal it has brought in over $ 7,500 and assisted 254 families in need.
Community Action Agency provides commodity food programs and senior meal programs to the eligible
residents in Chippewa, Luce and Mackinac Counties.
