Community Service Coordinator

The Community Service Coordinator provides a variety of assistance to low-income residents by offering them help to meet basic needs and provide linkages, consumer education, self- sufficiency programming, outreach and advocacy.
Maintain a consistent and effective outreach program.
Provide temporary financial assistance, advocacy,information, and referral services to low-income residents.
In cooperation with other CAA staff, network and coordinate efforts with all appropriate local service agencies and organizations focused on assisting low-income people to access services and address barriers that keep people in poverty;
Maintain confidential information and client files;
Perform data entry, create and print memos,correspondence, reports, and other documents when necessary;
Maintain regular and reliable attendance to ensure office coverage;
Perform other related work as required.

Ability to demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and professionalism in the workplace.
Responsible for monitoring building and property security, reporting issues and concerns.
Responsible for monitoring building repair requests, reporting issues and concerns.
- Local and out of area travel required

- Ability to complete complex paperwork and multi-task.
Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor,manager, managers in other departments, executives, Board of Directors,customers and outside vendors/service providers.
Position sedentary primarily sitting and lifting of maximum of 50pounds. Physical factors include constant sitting; frequent use of hearing, mid range vision, and typing and occasional standing, walking, carrying/lifting,stooping, kneeling, reaching, manual handling, use of smell, near/far vision and bending. Working conditions include occasional exposure to noise. Potential hazards include constant computer use; frequent equipment use and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, electric shock, and client contact.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors in Human Services or related field preferred. Minimum two years experience with public service or non-profit programming. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Use of office scanners, printers and copiers. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public. Must be able to work under pressure and handle difficult situations. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public. Must maintain confidentiality. Will be required to pass criminal history check. Must maintain good moral character standing. Must have valid Michigan driver’s license, an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
