Dial-A-Ride

Sault Ste. Marie Dial-A-Ride gets you around Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan with a modern lineup of public transit services tailored to make your trip fast, comfortable and economical.

Since March 29th of 1974, Sault Dial-A-Ride has provided “curb to curb” public transportation in Sault Ste. Marie. The intent of the shared ride system is for patrons to call for a ride and then share the ride with others who are grouped with them to their destinations.

In September 2020 Dial-A-Ride began another alternative. Scheduled bus stops. You can now catch the bus that will pick-up and drop-off at set bus stop locations throughout town.

Paratransit services available when unable to make it to designated bus stop locations. Please dial ahead at (906) 632-6882 for assistance.

Understanding Public Transportation

We understand there have been questions about the previous bridge bus service and appreciate the community’s interest in reliable transportation. While the bridge bus service is no longer in operation, Sault Sainte Marie Dial-A-Ride Transportation continues to provide a range of flexible and accessible transit options to meet the needs of our residents.

In response to evolving community needs, Dial-A-Ride introduced the Soo Loop, offering scheduled bus stops at key locations throughout town. This service ensures convenient access to frequently visited destinations and complements our long-standing curb-to-curb Dial-A-Ride program, which has been a cornerstone of public transit in Sault Ste. Marie since 1974.

While we honor the legacy of the bridge bus, CLM Community Action and our Dial-A-Ride services reflect our commitment to providing dependable, economical, and modern transportation for everyone in our community. We are dedicated to helping you travel safely and efficiently throughout town.

For those who require additional assistance, our paratransit services are available to help individuals who may have difficulty reaching designated bus stops. Simply call (906) 632-6882 in advance to arrange a ride.

If you have any questions or would like more information about our services, please don’t hesitate to contact us. For questions regarding transportation options for the International Bridge, please contact the International Bridge Administration directly at (906) 632-5255.
